Johnson & Johnson Spends Over $1.5 Million On Lobbying In Q1 2009

Johnson & Johnson has spent over $1.5 million for lobbying the US federal government in the first quarter of 2009, on health care reform and other issues. It lobbied on the federal stimulus bill, patent reform legislation and amendments to the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act covering medical devices, and food and health product safety.

It lobbied on multiple bills involving the Medicare prescription drug program that would either limit discounts given to the government or lowers the prices it pays.

Johnson & Johnson lobbied for expansion of the Children’s Health Insurance Program, on a bill to require research comparing the effectiveness of various medical treatments, and on legislation to establish a way for generic versions of biologic drugs to be approved.
