Infraredx to supply TVC Imaging System for HealthTrust’s acute care facilities

Medical device company Infraredx has signed an agreement with a group purchasing organization HealthTrust to supply its TVC Imaging System.

The deal will allow HealthTrust to provide Infraredx TVC Imaging System to its member network of 1,400 acute care facilities.

The dual-modality intravascular imaging system has been developed to guide percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI) by integrating near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS).

It will help in detecting lipid-core plaque, which is a fatty coronary artery plaque known to cause PCI complications.

The system combines both intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) and near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS), and offers clear and relevant information about vessel structure and composition in real time.

Infraredx president and CEO Don Southard said: "We are pleased to be selected by HealthTrust to provide our innovative TVC Imaging System now to more than 25% of the hospital healthcare facilities across the US.

"Our contract will enable HealthTrust members access to our novel dual-modality intravascular imaging technology, which provides valuable information for physicians to make procedural and patient care decisions aimed at improving clinical outcomes and lowering healthcare costs."

Infraredx TVC Imaging System received approval in both the US and Europe.
