Idaho Technology has signed a license agreement with Bio-Rad Laboratories, relating to the use of SYBR Green in PCR reactions and high-resolution melting.
Bio-Rad manufactures and distributes a broad range of products for the life science research and clinical diagnostic market.
The agreement follows on a series of intellectual property licensing agreements with a number of other biotechnology companies over the last several years.
Idaho Technology is a privately held biotechnology company based in Salt Lake City, Utah and has licensed the rapid PCR technology from the University of Utah.
Through funds from the US Department of Health and Human Services and the Department of Defense, the company has created many commercial instruments and reagents for use in research and applied fields including the LightCycler Instrument, which has been sublicensed to Roche Diagnostics.
