GE Healthcare to incorporate Masimo SET technology into GE patient monitors

GE Healthcare has entered into a long-term agreement with a noninvasive monitoring technology provider, Masimo.

Under the agreement, GE will incorporate Masimo rainbow SET technology into many of its patient monitoring products.

Masimo rainbow SET noninvasive and continuous measurements include total hemoglobin (SpHb), oxygen content (SpOC), carboxyhemoglobin (SpCO), methemoglobin (SpMet), and Pleth Variability Index (PVI), Masimo SET oxyhemoglobin (SpO2), perfusion index (PI), and pulse rate (PR).

The company said the measure-through motion and low perfusion performance of these technologies provides additional physiological data at the point-of-care that can help clinicians assess patients and detect adverse conditions much earlier.

GE Healthcare Monitoring SolutionsGM Matthias Weber said combining Masimo’s measurements advances with their patient monitors enhances bedside clinical decision-making and ultimately, supports patient care.

"Through our focused Monitoring Solutions division, GE Healthcare is committed to optimally collect information from the patient’s body, and transform it into meaningful intelligence for caregivers," Weber said.
