EBR Systems names Allan Will as new CEO

EBR Systems has appointed Allan Will as the company's new president and chief executive officer (CEO).

EBR develops wireless pacing technology (WiCS) to eliminate cardiac pacing leads which provides solution for many heart failure patients indicated for CRT therapy.

Will served in various medical device companies as CEO and/or chairman including Adjacent Surgical, AneuRx, Ardian, Concentric Medical, DVI and Evalve.

He also served as chairman and CEO of medical device incubator company – The Foundry, where he was co-founder of 11 medical device companies, and MD of Split Rock Partners.

EBR Systems president and CEO said its wireless pacing technology promises to be the next major advance in cardiac rhythm management.

"Ultimately,our wireless capability can replace all pacing leads, increasing efficacy and decreasing complications in bradycardia therapy as well as heart failure," Will said.

The company is currently engaged in the WiSE-CRT Study, a 100 patient feasibility, safety, and CE-Mark trial in Europe demonstrating biventricular capture in heart failure patients.
