Cook Medical announced the promotions for long-time employees Neal Fearnot, Matt Waninger and Bill Gibbons, effective June 1, 2009. Fearnot will become chairman of the board for MED Institute after serving for 26 years as founding presiden. Waninger, vice president of engineering at Cook Inc., will take Fearnot’s place as president of MED Institute. Gibbon, currently president of Cook Endoscopy, will be the new vice president of engineering at Cook Inc.

With Gibbons’s location change, Tamisha Clark, vice president of operations for Cook Endoscopy, will assume responsibility of general manager for the Winston Salem facility.

While directing Cook’s global engineering efforts, Gibbons will also maintain his present position as president of Cook Endoscopy. He has served Cook for 10 years, first as an engineer, then as engineering operations manager and president for the last seven years.

In his new capacity, Neal will be starting a new Cook entity focused on the latest medical technologies. He will also continue global efforts to assist regulatory agencies around the world in the capacity of a vice president of Cook Group, Inc.

During his tenure of 11 years at Cook, Waninger has contributed in several areas, including regulatory and clinical trial work. For the last four years, he has led global engineering at Cook’s headquarters in Bloomington, Ind.
