The Colorado Regional Extension Center (CO-REC) has selected athenahealth's Electronic Health Record service, athenaClinicals, an approved integrated clinical solution, to help primary care physicians throughout the State of Colorado.
athenaClinicals is 2011/2012 compliant and was certified as Complete EHR on 30 September 2010, by the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT), an ONC-ATCB, in accordance with the applicable eligible provider certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS).
The 2011/2012 criteria support the Stage 1 Meaningful Use measures required to qualify eligible providers and hospitals for funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009.
athenahealth chairman and CEO Jonathan Bush said that there is a groundswell of understanding building around the distinctions of athenahealth’s cloud-based EHR service, and the endorsement by RECs across the country is further accelerating the education curve to their benefit.
"A cloud-based service model like ours that delivers knowledge and services over the Internet can ensure that 100% of athenaClinicals clients stay compliant with Meaningful Use criteria, even as changes are introduced," Bush said.
