Boston Scientific has concluded patient enrollment in ASTI clinical follow-up study to assess Adapt Monorail Carotid Stent System in combination with FilterWire EZ Embolic Protection System.
The Adapt Monorail Carotid Stent System comprises a self-expanding, rolled nitinol sheet with patented Dynamic Tapering Technology designed to conform to varying carotid anatomies.
The second-generation carotid stent also provides visibility and has a closed-cell geometry that facilitates lesion coverage.
Sint-Blasius Hospital Vascular Surgery head Marc Bosiers said the Adapt Stent offers deliverability and scaffolding of the vessel wall.
Boston Scientific Europe, Middle East and Africa president Fred Hrkac said by offering the CE marked, second-generation, closed-cell carotid stent, they plan to build on the success of the Carotid WALLSTENT and continue to provide treatment options for patients with carotid artery disease.
