BG Medicine Appoints Executive Vice President & General Manager, Diagnostics

BG Medicine Inc. (BG Medicine) has appointed Doug White as executive vice president & general manager, diagnostics. In this newly created role, White will be responsible for the strategic direction and overall management of the company’s commercial operations as it advances a broad portfolio of high-value diagnostic tests toward commercial launch.

White brings more than 24 years of successful experience in the in vitro diagnostic marketplace to BG Medicine, including roles at innovative leading companies such as QIAGEN, Digene, Bayer, Chiron Diagnostics, and Abbott Diagnostics. Prior to joining BG Medicine, White served as QIAGEN’s senior vice president of sales and marketing for the Americas, and Chair of the Americas Management Council, where among other responsibilities he played a critical role in the successful integration of Digene Corporation following its acquisition. White also served as senior vice president of commercial operations, leading commercial activities in the Americas and Asia Pacific and heading the company’s global product management organization at Digene.
