Asahi Intecc, a Japan-based developer and manufacturer of interventional guide wires and catheters, has obtained CE Mark approval for its Asahi Gaia series PTCA guide wires, designed to treat patients with highly complex coronary artery blockages called chronic total occlusions (CTOs).
Asahi Intecc created the highly responsive guide wires that feature the company’s Actone dual-coil design (composite core technology) by using its unique capabilities in wire drawing, wire forming, torque transmission and coating.
Asahi Gaia series guide wires have been launched in Japan in 2012 and were well accepted by Japanese physicians and have made a significant difference when treating patients with CTOs.
The company is expected to launch the Asahi Gaia series in Europe and parts of Asia using its network of experienced local distributors.
Asahi Intecc manufactures medical devices, industrial materials and innovative products with a unique proprietary wire processing technology.
The company has operations in the US, Europe, Singapore, China and Hong Kong.
