MPS – the modular high-precision laser workstation

The MPS (Modular Processing System) offers a perfect platform for customer-tailored laser welding, cutting, drilling, structuring and marking solutions. A pneumatically lift door provides access to a spacious working chamber, large enough even for bulky medical instruments, trays or workpiece-fixtures. There is a choice of 4 motion systems, from a basic z-axis up to granite setups with utmost precision. The integrated laser garage accommodates a wide spectrum of ROFIN laser sources, comprising femto, fiber, solid state and diode lasers.

Femto second laser solutions by ROFIN are arousing more and more interest among medical device manufacturers. With almost cold cutting at utmost precision, femto second lasers offer impressive advantages when cutting innovative material like bioresorbable stents made of magnesium alloys or polymers. Post-processing steps, which dramatically reduce production yield and/or which require costly manual work, become obsolete.

LFS – fiber laser with high peak power

The pulsed LFS series fiber lasers provide high pulse performance at low average power and high beam quality. They provide and even outmatch the welding characteristics of lamp-pumped pulsed lasers in the precision area, like reduced heat welding with welding depths of up to 1.5 mm. The laser source is characterized by high electrical efficiency and low maintenance and provides all necessary interfaces and properties required for medical device manufacturing.
