Swiss insurer Zurich Financial Services Group has appointed Pierre Wauthier as chief financial officer and member of the group executive committee (GEC), effective from 1 October 2011.
Wauthier will report to the CEO, Martin Senn. He will be based in Zurich succeeding Dieter Wemmer, who will leave Zurich by the end of the year.
He joined Zurich in 1996 as Corporate Credit & Investment Risk Manager, served from 1999 to 2002 as head of investor relations and rating agency management and became executive vice president and chief financial officer of Zurich’s wholly owned subsidiary Farmers Group in 2002.
Senn said, his deep understanding of Zurich’s strategy and culture is underpinned by his extensive experience in a wide range of finance-related roles making him the ideal person to continue to drive forward the financial management.
