Strategic Insurance Systems Initiatives Group (SiSi Group), an insurance technical staffing and support firm, has announced that Minnesota based Western National Insurance Group (WNIG), a private mutual insurer, has selected SiSi Group to provide data conversion services.
The data conversion project is in support of WNIG’s implementation of a new billing system and encompasses the conversion of both personal and commercial lines data from WNIG’s two legacy platforms.
With limited internal capacity to spearhead the conversion effort, WNIG looked to SiSi Group in large part due to SiSi Group’s proven track record with similar projects, highly knowledgeable team, and arsenal of tools, including SiSi Group’s proprietary Data Evolver data conversion software.
Commenting on the selection of SiSi Group, WNIG’s Senior Vice President of IT, Mike Braun commented, "We have a great deal of confidence in SiSi Group’s experience to help us ensure a successful and efficient data conversion effort. The combination of the skill of the SiSi Group staff, the software they bring to the project, and the fact that SiSi Group has been extremely easy to work with were all contributing factors to our decision."
Carol Arel, WNIG’s Corporate Controller and the sponsor of the project, added, "We knew that choosing the new billing system was only part of the battle. Migrating the data from the old systems, including all of the necessary data validation and clean up, also presented a sizable task. We are pleased to have found a highly qualified partner like SiSi Group to help us through the conversion work."
The WNIG data conversion project will encompass all WNIG lines of business, including: personal lines for Auto, Home, Condo, Renters, Dwelling Property, Boat & Motor, Motorcycle/ATV, Snowmobile and Umbrella; and commercial lines for BOP, Workers’ Comp, Umbrella, Commercial Auto, Commercial Package Policy (CPP), Crime, Boiler, Earthquake, Employment Practices Liability (EPL), Fire and Allied Lines, General Liability, Inland Marine, and Surety Bonds.
The project will be completed in phases with personal and commercial lines data for the two legacy systems being handled each as a standalone conversion effort.
"We look forward to working with the WNIG team as they consolidate and modernize their P&C billing environment, and we appreciate their recognition of the value that our experience brings to the project," said, Rich Knutson, Principal with SiSi Group. "WNIG fully understood the complexity of the data conversion and recognized that investing the time and dollars to build the in-house expertise for a one-time conversion effort was not the best use of its valuable resources."
