StoneRiver’s CompSuite continues trajectory of rapid adoption and expansion

StoneRiver, the insurance technology partner with solutions across multiple business lines, today announced that OptaComp has successfully worked with CompServices (CSI) to add 150-users on the contract with StoneRiver for CompSuite expansion in value utilization.

Both CSI and OptaComp are affiliates of respective BlueCross BlueShield organizations and realize efficiencies through use of CompSuite. CSI will serve as host for CompSuite and support certain aspects of the application for OptaComp.

CompSuite launches individual applications in a tabbed, web-browser interface with the ability to incorporate disparate systems into a single portal environment. This provides end-users with a cohesive, consistent experience when using StoneRiver’s applications, as well as other products used in daily business processing.

The goals of the CompSuite modernization project for both CSI and OptaComp were client-centric and include such operational benefits as ease-of-training, employee retention, productivity enhancements and the ability to efficiently sell services to prospective clients (e.g. MGA/TPA services).

With four more customer implementations in progress today, StoneRiver’s CompSuite touts 10 customer production status movements in 2013. These complex and intrinsically valuable implementations bring customer efficiencies to the fore for StoneRiver’s CompSuite in the Workers’ Compensation space.

Commenting on the StoneRiver implementation, Lee Herzer, CSI’s vice president of operations, said, "CompServices Inc. (an affiliate of Independence Blue Cross (IBC)) investment in CompSuite resulted in the acquisition of a new client almost immediately upon the product’s general release."

Herzer continued, "CompServices anticipates that the modernized and efficient User Interface will be an integral part of our marketing to expand our TPA offering in the market."

Joe Santore, President and CEO of OptaComp also mentioned that, "The CompSuite solution has delivered the efficiency and enhanced data reporting capabilities for which OptaComp was looking. The StoneRiver team worked very effectively with our IT resources and CSI to deliver a successful implementation."

A sampling of the benefits CSI and OptaComp are experiencing with the StoneRiver CompSuite environment now in production include:

Home page / Calendars/ Graphical dashboards that provide workflow metrics and management of the work based on the user’s role as well as a launch point for all of their daily work (workflow)
A framework that provides the user direct access to common functions/actions throughout the application
Direct Integration to 3rd party web applications
Reorganized screen panels allows for better utilizing the web paradigm and provides the user with a more cohesive representation of data
Tabbed portal navigation where the user can now open several work items concurrently
Embedded integration with StoneRiver’s various ancillary applications provides a seamless "one product" user experience
A new drag/drop security interface, favorites, and interactive help all provide the user with a familiar way to interact with the system
Export capabilities throughout the application that allow the user to immediately extract data to Microsoft Excel with a single click of their mouse

Gary Anderson, President and CEO of StoneRiver noted, "CompSuite was created specifically for carriers, MGAs, self-insurance funds, and third party administrators with advanced business features. Addressing critical objectives for customers like CSI and OptaComp is a credit to the vision and excellence of both companies."
