Oriental Insurance To Introduce Four New Schemes

There would be two health insurance plans, including overseas mediclaim, and two motor vehicle insurance schemes

Oriental Insurance, a public sector general insurer, has decided to introduce four new schemes including two health insurance schemes, reported The Economic Times.

M Ramadoss, chairman of Oriental Insurance, said: We have filed offer documents for four new schemes with the regulator. These include two health insurance plans, including overseas mediclaim and two motor vehicle insurance schemes. The company is awaiting IRDA approval. Oriental currently offers 160 schemes under different segments.”

Meanwhile, the company has introduced a portal offering customers to buy policies online. The customers will be able to access vehicle insurance, personal accident cover, householder’s insurance online and even claims can be settled online.

Mr Ramadoss stated that the portal is integrated with the company’s core insurance system which helps the various stakeholders of the company to get real time information about their policies, claims and grievances, quoted the newspaper.
