New York Life Insurance Company has named Sue Ericksen, senior vice president , as new chief investment officer (CIO) of the company.
As CIO, Ericksen is responsible for directing a staff of more than 1,000 technology professionals and setting the strategic technology direction of New York Life as the leader of the company’s Corporate Information Department, which provides a wide range of technology services for New York Life customers, employees and agents.
Ericksen will report to executive vice president and chief administrative officer Frank Boccio. She replaces Eileen Slevin, who retired this month after 34 years of service with New York Life.
Ericksen joined New York Life in 2009 as chief technology officer and senior vice president, responsible for New York Life’s information technology vision, strategy and planning, overseeing the Enterprise Architecture and Engineering division in the Corporate Information Department.
Prior to joining New York Life, she served as chief technology officer at Merrill Lynch Banks where she was responsible for all Information Technology services in support of Merrill Lynch’s US Banks.
Before that, she held a number of executive positions at Citigroup, including chief technology officer for CitiCards and chief information officer for CitiFinancial.
