UK general insurer IGI Group has joined the broker panel of new online commercial insurance portal Broker2Broker, to provide a range of retail products. The new website, which was launched by SME Insurance Services, is an internet-based trading solution for brokers handling SME business.
The B2B portal uses a panel of insurers to produce quotes in less than two minutes, and also allows brokers to place new business, complete renewals and handle mid-term adjustments online. In addition, an online underwriter referral facility caters for risks that do not fit a standard policy.
According to IGI, the company will underwrite a range of products, including smaller packaged business for the retail sector, office premises, and commercial and residential property owners.
Neil Findley, sales and marketing director at IGI, commented: For brokers looking to place SME business, speedy access to wide markets for competitive quotes and the ability to place the risk and print off documentation instantaneously are fundamental.
Jason Gandy, joint managing director at Broker2Broker, added: IGI has a strong track record in the SME sector and so it is very positive news for our brokers that they have joined the B2Bi insurer panel.
Mr Gandy added that, although the system is free for brokers to use, the company is currently being selective. He concluded, however: We want to work with brokers who will support us and provide volume. Currently we are in discussions with insurers to widen our product range to include contractors, commercial legal expenses, mini fleet, personal accident and travel.
