Hong Kong Export Credit Insurance Appoints New Commissioner

Previously, Mr. Lai was Managing Director, South China Sales and Greater China Trade Finance of GE Capital, Asia Pacific

The Government has selected Ralph Lai Yin-ping as the Commissioner of the Hong Kong Export Credit Insurance Corporation (ECIC), with effect from July 1, reported Webnewswire.

Mr. Lai was previously the Managing Director, South China Sales and Greater China Trade Finance of GE Capital, Asia Pacific.

The appointment was made by the Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, in exercise of the power delegated to her by the Chief Executive under section 6 of the Hong Kong Export Credit Insurance Corporation Ordinance (Chapter 1115).

ECIC provides insurance protection for Hong Kong exporters against non-payment risks arising from commercial and political incidents. It is wholly-owned by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Regional Government, which also guarantees its liabilities.
