Genworth Financial names new chief investment officer

Genworth Financial has appointed Daniel Sheehan IV as senior vice president and chief investment officer, effective from 30 April 2012.

Sheehan will report to Genworth chief executive officer and chairman Michael Fraizer and will assume the senior vice president and chief investment officer role from Ronald Joelson, who will join Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company as chief investment officer.

Most recently, Sheehan served as asset management senior vice president, where he was responsible for the overall performance of Genworth’s insurance investment portfolios which include corporate, structured investments, real estate, private placements and trading.

Prior to joining Genworth in 2004, Sheehan served General Electric Company since 1997 in various roles throughout the investment organisation, which include real estate, risk, and portfolio management.

Sheehan also held service with Canada’s real estate investments group Sun Life as a property investment officer.
