Genesis Insurance appoints VP for public entity division

Genesis Insurance, alternative risk insurance provider, has appointed Chris Golonka to its Public Entity division. Golonka will be a member of the Midwest Region as vice president and underwriting executive.

Golonka, who had been vice president, Public Entity Group, ACE USA, will join the Chicago regional underwriting unit of Genesis.

Before joining Genesis, Golonka was responsible for the management, underwriting and production of public entity and scholastic business within the western half of the United States for ACE USA.

Prior to that, Golonka worked for Munich Re America Specialty Markets as vice president, public entity & non-profit client group, responsible for underwriting casualty and professional lines of business in a 20 state area with a focus on governmental and scholastic entities.

Genesis SVP and chief operation officer Robert Jones said that Chris Golonka is a well-recognized and respected leader in the public entity and educational sectors. He has built enduring client relations over many years, through his experience and understanding of the governmental and educational segments.

Genesis Insurance is licensed in the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and all states. Genesis Indemnity Insurance is licensed only in North Dakota and operates as an eligible surplus lines insurer in the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and all states except Florida, New Hampshire and North Dakota.
