Endurance Specialty Holdings, a Bermuda-based specialty provider of property and casualty insurance and reinsurance, has appointed Stefan Beine as senior vice president and head of international property catastrophe treaty reinsurance.
Based in Endurance’s Zurich office, Beine will join Endurance on 1 October 2011 reporting to Stephen Young, global head of Catastrophe Reinsurance.
He will be joined by Chris Powell, vice president of property catastrophe reinsurance, who recently transferred to Zurich from Endurance’s Bermuda office.
Beine has served as senior director and Head of International Model Solutions at RMS since 2009 where he was responsible for working closely with insurers, reinsurers and broker companies.
Prior to that he was the head of catastrophe modeling at Axis Re where he managed technical catastrophe pricing worldwide.
He has also held positions focused on catastrophic risk with Benfield, Guy Carpenter and Gerling Global Reinsurance.
Young said his strong existing partnerships with brokers and insurers will allow Endurance to further deepen the reinsurance relationships with the important European clients.
