CNA Canada ups fight against theft with two new systems

CNA Canada, a property and casualty insurer, has announced availability of two national information sharing systems for its policyholders to help counter increasing instances of cargo and heavy equipment theft.

Using CargoNet and the National Equipment Register (NER), the company will support the national initiative focused on secure information sharing, loss prevention services, education and training, and investigative support.

Both the systems are divisions of Verisk Crime Analytics, and will enable CNA to provide insureds with benefits and savings, such as preferential pricing and a deductible waiver of up to $10,000 per loss resulting from the theft.

Verisk Crime Analytics president David Shillingford said the collaborative information sharing holds greater importance in fight against both cargo and heavy equipment theft.

CargoNet and NER are designed to help insureds prevent theft and accelerate recovery rates through secure data sharing and collaboration between victims, business partners and law enforcement agencies.

The two solutions use crime analysts and subject-matter experts managed secure national databases and information-sharing platforms, and also allow analysis of aggregate data, showing theft trends to support loss prevention and investigations.
