Canopius Group, a specialist (re)insurance underwriting business, has named two executives within its Marine & Energy division.
According to insurance group, Joyce Webb, currently deputy divisional underwriter, is appointed as divisional underwriter of marine & energy.
In her new role, Webb will be responsible for Canopius’s Marine & Energy Division which currently underwrites marine property and liability, cargo and specie, energy physical damage and liability, and non-marine engineering.
Webb succeeds Stephen Gargrave, joint active underwriter of Syndicate 4444, to whom she will continue to report.
Similarly, Philip Sandle, currently marine liability underwriter, has been named to deputy divisional underwriter of marine & energy.
Canopius Group head of international operating division and chief underwriting officer Jim Giordano said the Marine & Energy division has been a core division for Canopius since the Group began and its strong track record is proof of the technical approach and disciplined underwriting.
