Bupa Individual Protection slashes critical illness rates

By an average of 3% with immediate effect

UK-based Bupa Individual Protection has announced that it is reducing the cost of its critical illness cover by an average of 3%, with immediate effect.

The company said that the new rates mean that a 34-year-old male non-smoker, on a level policy with GBP250,000 sum assured over 25 years, with no exclusions, will pay GBP88.40 per month instead of GBP91.19, a 3.1% reduction. A 29-year-old female non-smoker with GBP100,000 sum assured over 35 years on a mortgage policy, will pay GBP29.62 instead of GBP30.46, a reduction of 2.8%.

Steve Casey, product and marketing manager at Bupa Individual Protection, said: We are committed to supporting our intermediary partners and ensuring that our critical illness cover remains an affordable five-star option, especially given these unpredictable economic times when people need to protect themselves now more than ever against the financial impact of ill health.
