USSD conference announced

ENGINEERS, MANAGERS AND scientists involved in the design, construction, operation and safety of dams will gather in San Diego, California, on 24-28 June 2002, for the 22nd Annual Meeting and Conference of the United States Society on Dams (USSD). The San Diego Water Authority will host the conference, and a highlight will be a visit to the construction site of the Olivenhain dam, north of the city.

The theme of the conference will be Dams – Innovations for Sustainable Water Resources. The design and construction of RCC dams, project delivery methods, environmental management and permitting will be the subject of more than 50 presentations given by specialists from all over the world. In addition to the Olivenhain trip, there will be a field tour to the Diamond Valley lake project and Seven Oaks dam.
