Nepalese award for US company

Woodward Governor Company has received an order from the Toshiba Corporation to supply three digital governing systems for the Kali Gandaki A hydroelectric project in Nepal.

Each Woodward system comprises a MicroNet digital control, HPU and an actuator assembly with a FC1250 valve control. Equipment delivery will begin in December 1999.

Kali Gandaki A, with a total output of 144MW, will be one of the largest hydro projects in Nepal. It will also lead to a 50% increase in the country’s power generation, which currently stands at 295MW.

The Woodward Governor Company, based in Colorado in the US, designs and manufactures mechanical, hydraulic and electrical controls for turbines.
