Hamon Booked a Mega Order in Air Pollution Control in US

Hamon Research-Cottrell (HRC), a US subsidiary of the Hamon Group, has received full notice to proceed with the engineering, procurement and installation of a regenerative activated coke technology (ReACTTM) system for a US coal-fired power plant. This air pollution control project is the largest project ever booked by Hamon in the US. This should increase the sales of the APC NAFTA business unit by around 40% during several years.

HRC holds the license for the ReACTTM technology from Japan Power, the main Japanese power producer. ReACTTM is an integrated multi-pollutant control technology that removes SO2, NOx and mercury from coal-fired plant flue gases to attain emission levels found at the best controlled coal-fired plants. Advantage of this process, developed and already used in Japan, are its very high efficiency, its cost competitiveness and its very low water consumption compared to wet scrubbers.

Engineering and procurement activities have already begun and the project is expected to be completed and in-service by December 31st, 2016.

HRC provides innovative clean air technologies to a wide array of industries including power generation. This break-through new order is the first utility-scale project based on the ReACTTM technology outside Japan. This confirms again that Hamon is among the major world players in air pollution control.
