As part of the inventor’s Boring Company tunnelling dreams, the Elon Musk electric sled will bypass traffic through subterranean networks.

While Musk searches the stars for space travel, he’s also burying his head in the ground with his recent venture, the Boring Company.

However, the name of this earthly business is the exact opposite of what its name implies.

Rather, Boring makes us dig deep. In fact, it’s primed to change the way we travel from point A to point B, and maybe even reduce road rage.

Elon Musk electric sled gives us tunnel vision

There aren’t many people who can make tunnels sound exciting.

However, that’s what the mastermind behind Tesla, space exploration, smart brain implants, and so much more is doing.

The Boring Company deals with building tunnels and city planning.

As such, Musk aims to create a system of tunnels that will bypass traffic and drastically cut down travel time.

Godot, the name of his drilling machine to create the tunnels, has already dug one out on the grounds of SpaceX. There, Musk doesn’t need licensing.

Thus, Musk wants to create networks to run under major cities. His first goal is to complete a labyrinth of tunnels in LA:

“Full length of first tunnel will run from LAX to Culver City, Santa Monica, Westwood, and Sherman Oaks […] Future tunnels will cover all of greater LA.”

These underground passages will convey an electric sled that can travel up to 125 miles per hour.

Additionally, Musk’s team designed the sled to carry private cars as its cargo.

Therefore, this futuristic innovation in logistics and commuting would cut journey times by as much as 40 minutes. Thus Elon Musk could erase traffic for future generations.
