ViewPoint Financial to expand community banking network

The company plans to open three new full-service community bank offices this year

ViewPoint Financial Group plans to expand its community banking network by opening more free-standing, full-service community bank offices and transitioning away from limited service grocery store banking centres.

As a result, ViewPoint Bank will close in-store banking centres in Carrollton, Dallas, Garland, Plano and McKinney in March. These cities are currently served by full-service ViewPoint Bank offices. In addition, the company plans to open three new full-service community bank offices this year in Grapevine, Frisco, and Wylie.

Gary Base, president of ViewPoint, said: This decision is in keeping with our business plan. We are committed to providing more community-oriented banks that offer our customers all they need under one roof. The closure of these grocery store banking centres will allow us to allocate more resources to these efforts.

ViewPoint Bank is a community bank that has been serving consumers and businesses in North Texas for more than 56 years. Based in Plano, ViewPoint Bank is the largest financial institution headquartered in Collin County. In 2006, the company reorganised to become a subsidiary of ViewPoint Financial Group, a publicly traded company. ViewPoint Bankers Mortgage, the bank’s wholly owned mortgage subsidiary, operates 18 loan production offices throughout Texas, including the DFW area, Houston, Austin and Corpus Christi.
