TMX Group, a Canadian operator of exchanges, has acquired Atrium Network, a provider of network solutions in Europe and North America.
As part of the acquisition, Atrium Network will operate as a unit of TMX Datalinx, TMX Group’s information services division. It will be rebranded as TMX Atrium.
TMX Datalinx president and group head of information services Eric Sinclair said that their combined network will offer 25 points of presence in 11 countries, 24 trading venues and 300 data sources with plans to expand in the future where their clients need them.
Atrium Network CEO Emmanuel Carjat said the complementary capabilities offered by Atrium Network and TMX Datalinx will enable their current and future clients to benefit significantly from additional data content and from enhanced access to trading solutions.
The acquisition is expected to expand TMX Group’s data network into the Europe and the US.
The existing North American, European and trans-Atlantic connectivity platform of Atrium Network covers the service areas that TMX Datalinx planned to build out with its TMXnet network.
