Standard Chartered Bank has appointed Sean Wallace as the new group head of its corporate finance business.
Mr Wallace takes over from Vis Shankar who will now focus on his roles as group head of origination and client coverage operations and chairman of principal finance and private banking businesses. He will be a member of the wholesale banking management group reporting directly to Mike Rees, CEO of wholesale banking business.
Mr Wallace joins Standard Chartered from Franklin Templeton’s private equity arm Darby Overseas Investments, where he was the head of their Asian operations.
The bank has also hired Charles Alexander as the new regional head of origination and client coverage operations for north east Asian region, replacing Andrew Bester who is now CFO of consumer banking business. Mr Alexander joins from Lehman Brothers, where he was the head of corporate finance division for Asian region.
Rahul Goswamy, who is currently the global head of corporate advisory team, will become the global head of the strategic client coverage group. Mr Goswamy takes up the newly created position which will oversee key client relationships of the bank. He will report directly to Mr Shankar.
