Seacoast Commerce Bank appoints new chairman

Seacoast Commerce Bank has appointed Allan Arendsee as its new chairman with effect from April 1, 2008. Mr Arendsee replaces Bruce Nunes, who informed the bank's board of his decision to step down as chairman.

Mr Arendsee is the president of AW Arendsee Real Estate and a private investor. He was one of the founding directors of Southwest Community Bank and served on the board of directors of Placer Sierra Bancshares, a $2.5 billion bank holding company based in Sacramento, until the sale of that company to Wells Fargo in 2007.

In addition, Mr Arendsee serves on the board of directors of the Burn Institute, a local non-profit that specializes in fire and burn prevention, education and survivor support.

Mr Arendsee said: I’m honored that the board asked me to assume the chairmanship, and I look forward to the challenge. Bruce stepped in and acted as CEO not once, but twice, as the bank sorted through various leadership changes.
