QS Investors debuts Liquid Alpha Fund

QS Investors, a US investment firm operating in wealth management and advisory services, has launched a new UCITS regulated fund, Liquid Alpha, which is domiciled in Ireland.

According to the fund manager, the fund has already been made available for non-US citizens from 14 September 2012, and has been designed for individual and institutional investors living outside the US.

The fund has been developed to offer protection against market volatility, while generating capital appreciation above the Citigroup 3-Month US Treasury bill Index.

It will also provide low correlation to traditional asset classes such as bonds and equities, the wealth manager said.

QS Investors director Keith Van Name said, "we developed the Liquid Alpha Fund to meet that need while also targeting a fixed volatility target to try to minimize downside risk."

Based in New York, the advisory firm has nearly $10bn under management and $85bn under advisement.
