Nomura appoints new executive director to fixed income syndicate desk

Nomura has named Malcolm Mui as executive director on the firm's fixed income syndicate desk with responsibility for frequent issuers, regional currency markets and MTNs.

Mui will report to Mark Leahy, head of debt origination and fixed income syndicate for Asia ex-Japan.

Mui joins Nomura from National Australia Bank where he established a principal investment business focusing on regional credit.

Prior to National Australia Bank, Mui worked at Bear Stearns where he originated, structured, marketed and syndicated cash and synthetic credit products to clients in Asia ex-Japan.

Mui began his career in credit structuring and origination at JPMorgan Chase in New York. He later worked on the structured products syndicate desk at Goldman Sachs in the firm’s Fixed Income, Currency and Commodities division.

Leahy said Malcolm is a key addition to the desk as Nomura steps up its product delivery to clients in their target markets. They anticipate that his structuring, marketing and trading experience of credit products globally will make a significant contribution to an already committed team.
