NatWest in loyalty scheme climbdown – newspaper

The UK retail bank NatWest has backed down over its controversial decision to cancel loyalty scheme benefits for some card holders who used them infrequently, according to a newspaper report.

The Daily Mail newspaper has reported that NatWest, part of RBS Group, has agreed to reinstate the Air Miles points scheme for its Access cardholders only weeks after axing the benefit for some of them.

The bank’s decision was criticized in an earlier report by the same newspaper, and now it would appear that the bank has been forced into a rethink. Some affected customers were upset that the bank would withdraw the Air Miles points scheme just because they made sparing use of it.
