Morgan Stanley names chief economist for Turkey and MENA

Morgan Stanley has hired Tevfik Aksoy as its executive director and chief economist for Turkey and the Middle East and North Africa. He will report to Joachim Fels, co-head of global economics at Morgan Stanley.

Mr Aksoy joins Morgan Stanley from Deutsche Bank where he worked since 2004, most recently holding a similar position as chief economist for Turkey. In this role he also covered a number of east European and African countries.

Mr Fels said: Tevfik’s in-depth knowledge of Turkey and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) will be invaluable to our clients and will further enhance our macro coverage of this increasingly important region.
