Mellon Global Investments, the international distribution subsidiary of asset management and wealth management provider Mellon Financial, has opened a representative office in Beijing.
The establishment of the new office comes as the result of receiving official authorization from the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC).
Ms Xu Jin will operate out of the new premises as chief representative in China. Ms Jin will be responsible for raising awareness of the Mellon brand within China, consulting and liaison with regulatory and industry participants, conducting market survey activities and competitor analysis for the dissemination of information on opportunities within China for Mellon companies.
Commenting on the appointment Ronald O’Hanley, Mellon vice chairman and president of Mellon Asset Management, said: This is the first step in our development in China and we are very excited that Ms Jin is to join our team. She brings with her a wealth of experience and I am confident she will lead our business development in such an important global marketplace.
