MBNA Europe, the card issuing subsidiary of Bank of America, is targeting English football fans with its latest offering; football branded credit cards.
To coincide with the start of the new Premiership football season, MBNA Europe has launched a range of football branded credit cards. The group claims to be the largest provider of football affinity credit cards in the UK, providing branded credit cards to all twenty Premiership clubs.
MBNA’s cards offer 0% per annum on balance transfers for 12 months and a rate of 0% per annum on card purchases for 3 months from the date the account is opened. After the introductory period the card will revert to a typical rate of 15.9% APR (variable).
In a bid to entice consumers to take up the cards MBNA is offering to make a contribution to the user’s favorite club each time the credit card is used. Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool, for example, promise to invest the money back into youth development at the club.
