Manulife Asset Management has named Andrew John O as senior portfolio manager to oversee the research, analysis and management of Korean equities.
Andrew will be based in Hong Kong and report to Ronald CC Chan, head of equities, Asia.
In order to facilitate flow of real-time information, he will work closely with Manulife Asset Management’s Hong Kong-based equity investment team including those throughout Asia and will advise on the Korean equity market exposure within regional portfolios.
As of 31 December 2012, the wealth manager had more than $50bn in assets under management and manages over 85 equity professionals located in 10 markets across Asia.
Chan said, "Andrew’s expertise contributes to the management of all portfolios that hold Korean equities across the firm’s investment products, adding significant value to our mutual fund and insurance-linked investment product offerings and institutional mandates."
Andrew joins Manulife from Horizon Asset International and before that he worked with Frontpoint Partners, Goldman Sachs, the World Bank and the Korea Technology Banking (KTB).
