JPMorgan names new head of digital for consumer and community banking

JPMorgan Chase & Co (JPM), a US multinational organization, has appointed Gavin Michael as the new head of digital for Chase’s consumer and community banking division.

Trading in more than 60 nations with $2.4 trillion in assets, Chase operates as the US consumer and commercial banking business of JPM.

Michael joins the US bank from global management consulting firm Accenture, where he was working since 2010, and oversaw the company’s agenda, technology strategy, and research and development initiatives.

In his new role, he will report to Gordon Smith, CEO of Chase consumer and community banking, and Guy Chiarello, chief information officer of JPMorgan Chase.

Having more than 20 years of retail banking technology industry expertise including retail including governance, organization, strategy, and innovation, Michael has managed large, complex global projects across financial services and consulting industry.

Before Accenture, he had worked in various senior technology roles at Lloyd’s Banking Group, including retail chief information officer as well as at National Australia Bank and IBM.

Chase serves over 52 million consumers and small businesses through more than 5,600 bank offices, 18,700 ATMs, credit cards, mortgage offices, and online and mobile banking.
