JP Morgan has appointed Michael Lynch as vice chairman of investment banking.

Earlier, Mr Lynch was with Goldman Sachs in the investment banking division from 1976 to 2005 and was made a partner of the firm in 1986. From 1991 to 1995 he managed Goldman’s investment banking business in Latin America.

Mr Lynch has experience in financial and merger advisory, debt and equity transactions and new business solicitation. Most recently he was with GSC Group, a registered investment adviser.

Doug Braunstein, head of investment banking for the Americas at JP Morgan, said: “Michael’s long track record of success in investment banking will be extremely useful to our clients and business. His experience across an array of industry sectors and geographies, as well as his long-standing client relationships, will be a tremendous asset to JP Morgan.”
