Danvers Bancorp has announced that James Zampell has resigned as a member of its board of directors.

Mr Zampell served on the company’s board for 10 years, and at the time of his resignation he was lead director and a member of the governance and compensation committees. The company plans to elect a new lead director at its board meeting in April 2008.

Kevin Bottomley, chairman, president and CEO, said: Jim has played an important role in Danversbank’s transition from a mutual bank to a stock organization, which was finalized on January 10, 2008 and in his role as chairman of the bank’s compensation committee for many years.
