Heartland Payment Q2 net income rises

Heartland Payment Systems has reported net income of $12.26m, or $0.31 per diluted share, for the second quarter of 2011, compared to $6.14m, or $0.16 per diluted share, for the same period in 2010.

Total revenues were $525.98m for the second quarter of 2011, compared to $475.88m for the same period in 2010.

Small and mid-sized merchant transaction processing volume was $17.5bn for the second quarter of 2011, up 7.2% from the second quarter of 2010.

Heartland Payment chairman and CEO Robert Carr said the company’s key same store sales and new margin installed figures were up in the quarter, reflecting modest economic recovery at its merchants and continued strong new business productivity from the relationship managers.

"Although the relationship manager count was down this quarter, our new hire initiatives are showing early signs of success in developing extremely productive new relationship managers," Carr said.
