Fidelity Bank of Ghana launches new data centre in partnership with IBM

Fidelity Bank Ghana has successfully commissioned a new inclusive modern data center with the help of IBM, to power next phase of growth in the region.

As a result of business expansion in the country, the bank has been facing increased challenges to streamline its back-end processes and technology systems and thus chose IBM to overcome these challenges and manage future expansion program.

The newly launched data center will make the back-end management processes convenient and offer higher levels of service availability, assisting the bank to provide a positive end-user experience.

Fidelity Bank managing director Edward Effah said, "With advanced technologies and enhanced business intelligence tools, IBM is helping us to optimize our ability to provide a wider range of services to our rapidly growing client base."

Built at the bank’s headquarters in the Ghanaian capital of Accra, the new data centre has been designed from the ground-up with the energy efficiency, business continuity, resiliency, security and disaster recovery.

Fidelity Bank is the first lender in Ghana to achieve ISO certification and offers mortgage and rural banking products in the country.

The bank is owned by Ghanaian and foreign individuals and institutional investors, which includes the Agricultural Development Bank, Africa Capital LLC, and the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT), amongst others.
