Equifax appoints new head of banking and financial institutions services

US-based Equifax has appointed Martin Hagerty as the new head of banking & financial institutions services, to reinforce its position in the banking sector, effective from February 2013.

Having more than 30 years of global banking and financial services industry expertise, Hagerty will help the company to deliver latest services to deal with the compliance and risk challenges currently facing the sector.

Equifax UK managing director Shawn Holtzclaw said that Martin’s understanding of the UK marketplace will allow the company to offer solution to problems faced by its clients.

Prior to accepting the current role, Martin was working with HSBC as head of retail risk, Latin America and managed credit risk and performance of 12 nations.

He also served as retail banking deputy head, Continental Europe and head of retail risk, UK.

Before this, he worked with M&S Financial Services and developed a profitable credit structure as well as held risk management positions at MBNA and HBOS.
