Credit Suisse hires two senior investment bankers

Credit Suisse has hired David Cheng as managing director and head of its corporate finance for Greater China and Quincy Hui as the managing director for its Hong Kong coverage.

The bank said that both the new hires are based in Hong Kong for the investment banking department.

Mr Cheng will oversee the corporate finance team for Credit Suisse’s Greater China business. He will report to Paul Raphael, head of investment banking for Asia-Pacific not including Japan. Mr Cheng joins Credit Suisse from Bear Stearns, where he was senior managing director and head of corporate finance in Asia.

Mr Hui will play a key role in developing relationships and originating and executing transactions for the Bank’s Hong Kong based clients. He will report to Chester Kwok, head of Hong Kong coverage and co-head of real estate investment banking. He joins Credit Suisse from Deutsche Bank, where he was managing director and head of Hong Kong investment banking.

Mr Raphael said: David and Quincy’s expertise and track record strengthen Credit Suisse’s investment banking franchise in Asia. Their hiring underlines our commitment to deepening our talent pool irrespective of market cycles.
