Citigroup has selected Dinesh Sharma as its consumer banking head for the Middle East & North Africa (MENA) region, who will be based in Dubai.
Having joined the US bank in 1990, he served in key positions across an array of functions within consumer banking in Asia and Europe.
Prior to accepting the current role, he worked as consumer group risk director for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
In the aforesaid role, Sharma was accountable for managing consumer credit and fraud risk for the region, the bank said.
Citi Middle East chief executive officer Atiq Ur Rehman said that Dinesh’s experience in a range of assignments across multiple geographies will enable future growth of the business in the region.
Trading over 160 nations and jurisdictions, Citi serves approximately 200 million customer accounts and provides consumer banking and credit, corporate and investment banking, securities brokerage, transaction services and wealth management.
