Citi Global consumer chief marketing and internet officer Michelle Peluso has been appointed to the new consumer advisory board of the US Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB).
The CFPB’s new 25-member board has been created with an aim to assist federal agency in protecting consumers by providing expertise on emerging trends and practices in financial services.
The CFPB Consumer Advisory Board was authorized by the US Congress through the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010.
Citi global consumer banking head of governance and external affairs John P Carey said the CFPB’s creation of a consumer advisory board underlined the Bureau’s aim to listen to consumers and adapt to the changing consumer environment.
"Michelle has done a remarkable job enhancing the customer experience at Citi and harnessing technology to bring better solutions to customers and companies, and I am confident she will bring that expertise to this important role and help the CFPB achieve its mission," Carey added.
Peluso said, "I am honored to be selected by Director Cordray and the CFPB to join this impressive, diverse group, and I’m eager to help it achieve its important mission."
At Citi, Peluso is accountable to help, monitor and improve the Citi global consumer bank customer experience, including all of its online and mobile banking channels and initiatives.
Prior to joining Citi, Peluso was working as CEO of Travelocity from 2003 to 2009.
