Capital One names SVP of commercial real estate banking

Capital One Financial Corporation has appointed Richard Lyon as the new senior vice president of its commercial real estate banking business.

As the head of commercial real estate banking business, Mr Lyon will lead one of the core business units of Capital One’s commercial banking division. He will actively manage and strategically grow the company’s commercial real estate activities, providing financial services to the real estate development and investment community across the Capital One Bank footprint.

Mr Lyon will report directly to Michael Slocum, Capital One’s executive vice president of commercial banking business.

Mr Lyon joins Capital One from Wachovia where he led the company’s real estate banking efforts in the northeast region of the US, which included offices from Boston to Washington, DC.

Capital One has also announced the addition of a new Boston-based commercial real estate banking group dedicated to servicing real estate firms in the New England market. A team of six commercial real estate professionals joined Capital One from Wachovia, where they worked together for more than 15 years.

The Boston team, along with existing teams in New York, New Jersey, Louisiana and Texas, will report to Mr Lyon.
