US private equity fund Blackstone has named James Carnegie as a senior advisor to the firm, who will be based in Sydney to focus primarily on the firm’s private equity activities in Australia.
Most recently, Carnegie was a partner with Archer Capital, an Australian private equity firms and prior to this he worked with Macquarie Capital in its principal investment area.
Blackstone senior managing director and the Asia-Pacific region private equity head Michael Chae said, "We have worked closely with James in the past, and are confident that his addition to our team in a senior role will strengthen our pursuit of attractive opportunities in Australia on behalf of our limited partners."
James Carnegie commented, "Australia presents many attractive opportunities to invest capital for a value-added and committed investor and I am looking forward to help drive this process here."
Blackstone offers services pertaining to private equity funds, real estate funds, hedge fund solutions, credit-oriented funds and closed-end funds.
